About
Our names are Karin and Poul Erik Fredskild, and we live on our hospitable farm in the middle of Mandø town - close to the low line of dunes that separates the island from the beautiful foreshore and the vast Wadden Sea.
Karin grew up with her family on Mandø. In 1992 we found each other, got married and decided on a future together on the island.

We bought Karin's grandparents' farm and converted it – initially the farmhouse into our own residence – and later we converted the stable, outbuilding and barn into six spacious modern guest apartments with a café and outdoor facilities. Karin is now in charge here – as hostess and the driving force in taking care of the guests.
The newest addition to the family is our tour boat, which Poul Erik has both built and is responsible for the daily operation of. Poul Erik has worked as a machinist on the North Sea for many years, where off-shore work has given him the opportunity to cultivate his great passion: To draw, construct and build. This is the basis for Poul Erik to have created his own workplace on the island today, after having developed the idea, drawn, constructed and built the lovely tour boat Mandøpigen himself.
The conversion of my grandfather's farm into a modern guesthouse has been going on for more than twelve years. Step by step we have dreamed and conceived it together. During his periods at home, Poul Erik has then designed, organized, constructed and almost single-handedly - with a little help from Karin, among others - built the entire glory.
